In the beginning of this year (2013), Amazon acquired Goodreads, one of the most influential social network website about reading.

The article here has a more neutral standing, holding their opinions in a conservative way. Whether they are observing or just waiting to see their judgement to come true, we don’t know. But the infographics shows how passive people read a book nowadays. Certainly, people choose to watch or browse information as fast as they could, books seem step out of our sites gradually. Goodreads is trying to maintain its power in a new way.

However, about this acquisition, many people including authors have a different understanding, a more negative one.
