In Afghanistan, a Chinese mining company threatens to destroy the remains of an ancient Buddhist city, which archaeologists are now racing to excavate.

In September 9 2013 Time Magazine, it says, “it’s unclear when MCC will be able to resume [the mining work in the historical site]”. So at least we know, MCC paused their work, and waiting for the archeologists doing the digging. The video is very disturbing from all kinds of aspects. Taliban exploded the Budda site, and then it is the Chinese coming. It does NOT make any good connection there, however, the artifacts are moving out gradually.

It is hard to comment on this kind of videos since there are many elements are related to each other. But I hope, the historical site will be well preserved. After all, it represents a 2000 years old culture, for humanities studies, it is very significant. Alas, for some other reasons, humanity is never important.
